OLL #92 Stitching

Get your sewing machine or your needle or your fine liner out, ladies, 'cos it is time to show your stitching skills over at Ooh La la.
The challenge will run until Sunday 13th November so you have plenty of time to practise (if like me, you need to, of course!)
I have never been happy using my sewing machine with paper (that probably shows, if anything, that my skill with the machine is not great :-)) so I tend to go for faux stitching. And this is precisely what I did with this Christmas card: all papers are from OLL; the die cut is Shapeabilities Nested Bird; gems from my own stash; alphas are Sizzix die cuts and so is the branch.

Some challenges:
Raise the bar - Sew what?
Bah Humbug - Die cuts
Jingle Belles - Creatures
Dream Valley challenges - Anything goes

You're HOW old?

My card today is for a good friend who celebrates his 45, I think (LOL), next week. Since the 40s are a bit of a sensitive age for some people, I decided to use a humorous sentiment (from TLC Creations, btw). The backing papers are a present from my dear friend Christine. The image is a colouring page which I coloured with Letraset Promarkers; Nestabilities die cuts; and I used twine and a wooden button to give it a more masculine touch.

Some suitable challenges:
Cards and THings - Colour challenge
Aud sentiments - Make us laugh
Whimsy Stamps - Buttons
Inky Impressions - Anything goes
Charisma Cardz - Anything goes
Sweet Stamping - Anything goes

Happy Halloween!
Don't forget to change the clock tonight!

Thanks Merci Gracias

Today my card is a Thank you Card which I made with kraft, white and purple cardstock; it is a different style than my usual, but I was happy with the outcome.
(The reason why there are 2 of them is because they were made for the 2 kind paediatrician doctors that we were lucky to meet and be seen by recently.)
I used: kraft, white and purple cardstock; Cuttlebug embossing folder; lilac ribbon, lilac card candy; Rhona Ferrer Swirls stamp; Circle Nestabilities
Some suitable challenges:
Squigglefly - Thanks
Totally Papercrafts - Layer upon layer
Charisma Cardz - Embossing
Karen's Doodles - Emboss it

Cupcakes

Cupcakes - They are so fashionable at the moment, aren't they? You find them in paper crafts, fabric, household items, as well as in any fancy cafe, of course... Around this neck of the woods we would have called them muffins, but since they got so famous, they have now been promoted to cupcakes. LOL! Anyhow, one name or another, they are absolutely yummy and we all love them :-)And here's a couple of cards feautiring this gorgeous dessert. The layout is the same in both cards as you can see, I simply used different colours.
The cupcake image is a digital from WinkWinkInk; unfortunately I cannot find the author of the ticket, sorry (I hate when that happens; designing digital images myself, I find it is only fair to receive credit after creating a digital. I always try to give credit and mention the author but this time I can't) ; backing paper from PaperCraft Inspirations; coloured with Letraset Promarkers, some gems and Stickles to add some sparkle.

Onto some challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Get in Shape (3 cupcakes, 1 rectangle voucher, 1 square card)
Little Red Wagon - Just the ticket
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Birthday celebrations

Have a nice weekend!!

Bratz with an attitude

Is it a miracle? It must be! I had a bit of time this morning and decided not only to post a new card but also to make a birthday card I will need for... ready? 17th December!!! Yes, you read it right. I started colouring this Bratz image (they are brilliant to colour, aren't they?!) and half way I remembered the birthday of an 11 year old girl (a family friend) coming up sometime in December, so I thought I might as well make a card and have it ready! LOL!

The DPs are from BMD - and I loooove them, isn't the pink one just perfect for an 11 year old girl??!; the digital image is a Bratz, coloured with Letraset Promarkers; Dymo label; Nestabilities die cut; circle punch; flower from own stash; Stickles; card candy.
Some challenges:

Ahoy Mateys!

I have to admit that my 7 year old son keeps me fairly busy in many aspects, and especially when it comes to crafting :-)
He has so many little friends and birthday parties to attend to (with handmade cards by mum, of course), he surely has a better social life than me!!
This particular card is for one of his best mates, Darragh, who turned 6 recently. For it I used
Pirate Ethan, from Pollycrafts, coloured with Letraset Promarkers. The fantastic backing paper is from Free Digital Scrapbooking (thanks, Marie! http://www.freedigitalscrapbooking.com/)
The sketch is an old one from Eat Sleep Stamp.
Some challenges:
Totally Stampalicious - Emboss it

Cupcakes anyone?

My second card this evening features an image from Lili of the Valley. I find this little girl adorable and so sweet organising all her cupcakes for a tea party!
I decided to use the image for a 6 year old girl birthday card; it is coloured with Letraset Promarkers. The designer paper is digital, but can't remember where it came from, sorry. The sentiment was computer generated; ribbon from my own stash.

For the moment, here's the first installment, a square scalloped card for a 9-year-old girl. Hope you like it.
The ticket sentiment is from Sentiments 4 you; image coloured with Letraset Promarkers; papers are scraps from other projects; ribbon from my own stash.

OLL # 90 - Sympathy card

A new challenge starts today at Ooh La La until 16th October - make a Sympathy card.
This is a type of card that sometimes can be difficult to make due to the grieving feelings involved; so when looking for an appropriate image and colours I was happy with my findings: My card features papers and topper from the Algonquin Autumn folder from the recently released Carnival of Colours CD; I very much like the rich colours and the beautiful tranquil image; I hope you like it too.

Some other challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday - Photo Inspiration
Inky Impressions - Punch/dies
Stampin Royalty - Keep it Simple
Easy Craft - Autumn
ABC Challenge - Anything goes

Have a nice week!
