Wedding card

Here's my latest card - a request from a friend who was attending a wedding at the weekend.

The photo frame is a digital image from Birds Cards; the "Honeymooners" image is an A Muse rubber stamp, which I paper pieced rather than colour it; copper ribbon from my own stash; Oval Nestabilities.

Vintage Album (part II and last)

This is my second project finished this week. Another big YAY for me!

I started this vintage album months ago, I even showed a peak of it here, but I hadn't managed to fully complete it until now (I was not sure about the main cover and the title, what system to use to close it, etc.). In the end it was worth the effort, though :-)

This little album (10x10cm, 6 pages decorated on each side)encapsulates and celebrates the life of my late father and has been a long, emotional journey for me, collecting photos and re-living many memories in the process. This is the result, I hope you like it.

Some projects

This week I have managed to finish a couple of projects that were started and left aside...Yay for me!!! :-)

One of the projects was these two cushion covers - a little "thank you" gift for a lady who very kindly gave me some beautiful fabric she had to spare months ago. I thought it would be nice to show her my appreciation by making a couple of cushions that she could use in her own place. The covers were finished ages ago (before Easter probably!) but I never seemed to find the time to make the little flowers to put in the centre. So today, finally the flowers were completed and the little project finished!

Here are the finished cushions and the covers wrapped, with a Thank You Tag. (I opted for a very simple style of cushion covers and very simple flowers in the end as you can see!)
I guess the tag, even though it is also very simple, can enter the All Sorts Challenge of this week :-)

Strawberries

I have been under the weather {and therefore MIA} for most of the week, struggling to make just a couple of Communion cards for orders, checking mail and blogs randomly, all with not much energy...
Today the sun is out :-) and I pushed myself to create a card and enter some challenges.
And among my stash of papers and digital images I came across this yummy paper that I downloaded ages ago and these beautiful Studio Nine Design digital strawberries. I had them even coloured! And then this cute image of this "strawberry girl" from Bodil's Scrapperverden appeared and it all got together in my mind! You see, I love strawberries, and when I say "love" I really mean LOVE! Jokingly I often say that I would sell my soul to the devil for a bowl of fresh ripe strawberries! They have always been my favourite fruit so the images and the paper were just a delicious temptation to play with!

Newborn Layout

Scrapbooking has kept me occupied for the last week. I was commissioned to create a few LOs for newborn babies, which is something I always enjoy. This LO enters the following challenges:

Baby Girl circle card

I made this little birthday card over the weekend - hopefully the last of my children's birthday cards for a few days! ;-)

The little girl turns 1 so I tried to keep it sweet (with the Forever Friends stamp) and in nice pink tones. I coloured the image with Letraset Promarkers and paper pieced the crown. The balloon stamp is from Hero Arts; gems and ribbon from my own stash.

Handbag Shaped Card

Believe it or not - I am still working on those children's birthday cards... yeps!
This one, however, felt a bit easier and it was defenitely more fun for me. It is for a 6 year old girl to start with (I find girls' cards easier than boys'); and she is a very girly girl, a little lady who, by the way, I love to bits. So pinks, ribbons, buttons, bows, glitter - all allowed! :-)

Answers to some questions

So I received a few comments and questions with regards the material and tools used in my last card.
First of all, the image is Sassy Cheryl's, coloured with Letraset Promarkers (Bluebell, Lilac and Amethyst, plus Blush); Cuttlebug (dots) and Sizzix (vine) embossing folders; white pearls, butterfly die-cuts; Circle Nestabilities; for the flowers I used a new type of punch I recently bought - 3D Punch and Emboss from Docrafts XCut. It gives a beautiful and delicate effect, doesn't it? Yeah, I love it too.

Boy's Birthday card

2 done, another 3 to go :-) I told you this week was all about children's birthday cards!

This card in particular is for a 6 year old boy, the really boy-ish type, if you know what I mean.... He likes skateboards, bikes, scooters, rough sports, all that sort of thing.

The stamp is one of Sliekje's (check out her blog, she offers free digital images often and they are all very cute!) and I thought it was perfect for the occasion - cute but cool!  I downloaded a graffiti font from the net to give that rough look and coloured it all with Letraset Promarkers. Not overly ecstatic with the result, but it will have to do because I am running out of time :-(

Where's my mojo?

Where's my mojo? This week I have a bunch of children's birthday cards to make and my inspiration seems to have completely evaporated. It has taken me hours to come up with today's card!

In the end I went for this cute Pollycrafts digital image, vivid colours using Promarkers and ribbons, and dry embossing.

Flowers

I could not craft for a few days, life just got on the way... This afternoon, finally I got some time to sit down and be creative again. Ah, it feels nice :-)
I was asked recently how to make paper flowers, so I decided to put together a card with a few of the different types I usually make.
This flowery card enters 2 challenges:

My zebra "out and about"

I am thrilled to see my dear digital zebra out and about, in "new environments".

Because today it does feel like spring!

All the stamps used in today's card are from Dimension Fourth, a British company that I discovered last year while attending a crafts show in Birmingham. They have lots of self-cling polymer stamps, a fabulous range of images at very reasonable prices and, very importantly, an excellent customer service.

Don't you think the stamps are beautiful? I got these ones recently and could not wait to play with them.

And I am very happy with the result: the bird house is adorable and the final card offers that spring/summer feel that I was looking for. The weather has been fantastic today and I feel optimistic -spring may finally be here!

I coloured the different images with Letraset Promarkers, and cut and layered some of them with 3D pads to give dimension. I added glitter to the butterfly wings and to the bird, as well as 3D embossing fluid, for extra dimension.

Decoupage card

I rarely use decoupage in my cards and defenitely never use peel-offs. No special reason, I just don't seem to find the right card for them. However I was demonstrating the decoupage technique the other day and a peel-off came in handy to finish this particular card.

Pink card

Over on Cute Card Thursday things are going Mono Maniac! My card, the pinkest I have ever made ;-) enters the challenge..while on Stamping for the Weekend are looking for bows and ribbons.
I love MO's digital stamps, and this image in particular is one of my favourite. The quote is anonymous and I think it is perfect for the image of the beautiful young dreamer...
Ingredients: Paper from Papermania, Capsule Collection; Letraset Promarkers; border by Fiskars; pink ribbon and a beautiful silver charm, a gift from my friend Wendy.

Male birthday card

Finally I produce a card! This one is for a golf lover; I kept it simple, man-ish colours.

I used Nestabilities and Fiskars punches; the golf ball stamp is by Dimension Fourth; the sentiments from different sets: Papermania For Him, Daisy and Dandelion, and Studio G alphas; paper and cardstock from my own stash.

Since there is a bit of green, my card enters the Stampavie and More challenge of this week.
